Composer Quest September 28, 2014 • leviwein Charlie McCarron cut his composing teeth at Saint John’s University by producing the experimental three-disc story album The Mystery of Grey Matters, in which the first and second disc can be heard simultaneously on disc three. After graduating in 2008, he spent time in Tanzania teaching music, English, and computer classes. Upon his return to the Twin Cities, Charlie organized a number of collaborative music projects. He produced a new Minnesota artist each week during his Song a Week Sessions project in 2011. Most recently, Charlie has been producing Composer Quest, a podcast on the creative process of songwriting and composing.
